Wake Forest – Legacy of Opportunity

Revealing Owen's cover illustration for Wake Forest Magazine. He was tasked with bringing to life their cover story on ‘Wake Forest’s Legacy of Opportunity’, looking at the timeline of Wake Forest University’s life-changing promise: free tuition for North Carolina students whose families make less than $200,000 a year. 

For the piece Owen deeper dived into Wake Forest and the university’s history, picking out key landmarks and icons to create the paper cut scene, radiating with a beacon of light at its centre.

He created a bold multi-layered cover image, incorporating the magazine's logo as part of the papercutting, as well as a striking article opener image and a suite of spots for the client to use throughout the article. The Cover and Opener were also combined and brought to life by animation studio Plastic Horse, for Wake Forest University to use on their website and socials.
