We are in full Christmas swing here in the studio so having the opportunity to create the cover for Cook Magazine's Christmas issue was a perfect project to round the year off with.
Cook magazine has a history of collaborations with amazing artists from the legendary Quentin Blake to Italian Illustrator Beppe Giacobbe so we were honoured to be invited to create the cover of their Christmas issue.
Cook magazine celebrates food in a whole new way, exploring culture, stories and personality through food so we created a piece that focuses on the Italian food traditions at this time of year.
Working with a subtly festive colour palette we created an ensemble of traditional Italian dishes, Christmas decorations and festive imagery layered up to give the cover depth. From tiny details such as delicate snowflakes to hearty Italian plates of food the paper cut illustration creates an image that echoes the importance of food and culture at this time of year.
