90 Candles

An artwork created for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration's '90 Candles' campaign, which brought 90 illustrators together to each create a candle illustration celebrating Quentin Blake’s 90th Birthday. Owen's artwork contains a graphic candle form radiating with light in his multi-layered papercut style, using a sweeping gradient of nine different tones, each representing a decade of Quentin's extraordinary life.

The 90 illustrations were compiled together as a book, which was then given to Quentin as a birthday present. The artworks were also sold as prints via the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration website, raising funds to help their foundation.
