'Intersections' is an on-going series of original multi-layered paper cut artworks by Owen Gildersleeve. The series captures life in its simplest of forms, through intersecting graphical shapes and hand-cut layers or paper. The artwork uses a very limited selection of bold coloured paper sheets, working in a gradient from light to dark and layered using board.
One of the studies from the first series of artworks ‘Intersections: Study I’ was selected as a winner of the Winter 2025 round of the Homiens Art Prize.
The Homiens Art Prize is an international, non-acquisitive art prize open to artists of all backgrounds, with no restrictions on medium, theme, or size. It awards over $12,000 annually to artists, including cash prizes for winners, exhibition opportunities, and promotional features “helping to elevate art careers to new heights.”
Owen exhibited the artwork series for the first time at his Open House in 2025 and then debuted a new batch at the The Other Art Fair in London of October that year.
The few remaining pieces are now available from Owen's shop.
